Serena and Jinx - my new buddies

At the shelter this morning I reconnected with my two kitchen girl friends: Serena and Jinx. As usual, I brought along some yummy kitty treats for each of them and for a bunch of other kitties awaiting another treat from the kitchen lady.

Serena wanted to know how long she was staying at the shelter. As I folded the clean laundry from the dryer, I told her that probably any day now, someone would peak in the kitchen and see how cute she is. “It’s just a matter of time,” I assured her. Jinx didn’t have much to say on the matter, and she promptly took a short kitty nap while I got busy washing and drying a stack of kitty bowls.

I suggested to Serena that she take a walk outside the kitchen so if somebody did come into the shelter looking for a sweet little kitty like herself, she might find herself adopted after all. “It’s just a matter of time,” I said. She didn’t seem convinced and despite my optimism on the subject, she sulked for a while and took a nap. When it was time for me to leave, I told her I’d be back in a day or so and we bobbed heads together as always.
